Test Engineer – AHS

Description
This position plays a pivotal role in validating complex autonomous vehicle systems at the system integration level, directly at operational mine sites.
As part of a collaborative engineering environment, you’ll be responsible for executing hands-on field testing of integrated AHS solutions, including navigation, obstacle detection, braking, and control systems. You’ll work closely with development, engineering, and operations teams to diagnose issues, validate system interactions, and ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Testing Execution – Plan and carry out site-based testing to verify AHS system integration and performance.
- System Calibration & Verification – Calibrate and validate autonomous vehicle controls (steering, braking) and sensor systems (GNSS, CAN bus).
- Issue Diagnosis & Resolution – Identify and resolve hardware/software integration issues across subsystems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with engineering teams, OEM partners, and system architects to ensure smooth integration and testing.
- Risk Management – Proactively identify and mitigate system risks while ensuring strict adherence to engineering and safety standards.
- Demonstrated experience testing and verifying autonomous systems in a mining or industrial setting
- Strong understanding of system integration, sensor calibration, and control systems
- Hands-on diagnostic and problem-solving skills across both hardware and software platforms
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work FIFO to remote mine sites on a rotating roster
