Systems Engineer 

Location: Perth based 
Contract Length: 6 Months 

Responsibilities Requirements Engineering

• Elicit and analyze all levels of requirements for autonomy-related systems, including energy management.
• Lead the development and governance of requirement documentation formats.
• Support the design and verification of software and hardware components within autonomous systems.

• Lead the selection, procurement, and integration of technologies such as sensors, computing platforms, routers, and related machinery, ensuring seamless communication and system cohesion.
• Manage supplier engagement, evaluating multiple candidates to determine the most effective hardware solutions or replacements.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Deliver detailed system design interfaces, specifications, and procedures in line with agreed standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with domain experts, product development teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead the development and application of systems models and design methodologies.

• Develop and review test plans and cases for major validation campaigns.
• Review requirements to confirm completeness and verifiability.
• Lead verification activities, ensuring timely bug resolution in alignment with safety and project timelines.

• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and best practices.
• Solid understanding of control theory, functional safety, and secure design principles.
• Proven ability to operate with minimal supervision in complex environments.
• Skilled in developing N2 charts for mapping system interactions.
• Familiar with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Ethernet).
• 5+ years’ experience in a systems engineering or related role.
• Proficiency with SysML or similar modeling frameworks.
• Experience with RF systems and mining environments will be highly regarded.
