An opportunity is available for an experienced Civil Supervisor to join a site-based mining construction team. Reporting to the Project Manager / Superintendent, you will play a key role supervising civil construction activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is suited to a hands-on leader with strong field experience across bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure within mining or heavy civil construction environments. You will be responsible for coordinating crews, managing subcontractors, and driving safe and productive outcomes on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities including earthworks, haul roads, drainage, foundations, and concrete works
- Lead and coordinate site crews, subcontractors, and plant operations
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, site procedures, and environmental requirements
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
- Monitor progress, productivity, and quality of works against project schedules
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Liaise with engineers, planners, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
- Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to optimise site performance
- Report on progress, safety performance, and project milestones
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a Civil Supervisor role within mining or heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of bulk earthworks, haul roads, drainage, and concrete works
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors
- Solid understanding of site safety systems and risk management practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documentation
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Current driver’s licence (HR licence highly regarded)
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Experience working on operational mine sites or major construction projects
- FIFO roster: 8 days on, 6 days off (days only)
