Our Tier 1 mining client is requiring a Senior Water Resources Engineer to support major mining operations and project developments across multiple sites.
This role will deliver hydrological assessments, hydraulic modelling, flood risk analysis and water infrastructure design within a complex operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, interpret and analyse rainfall, hydrology and catchment data to inform technical studies and risk assessments
- Deliver hydrological assessments and surface water infrastructure design including culverts, floodways and diversion systems
- Undertake hydraulic and flood modelling to support flood risk assessments and stormwater management strategies
- Provide technical guidance on baseline and post-development hydrology, water management design and engineered structure performance
- Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, modelling reports and high-quality technical documentation
- Support water approvals and licensing processes in accordance with relevant legislation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project engineers, environmental specialists, consultants and contractors
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 8+ years’ post-graduate experience in water resources engineering
- Strong experience in catchment hydrology, flood modelling, hydraulic modelling and stormwater design
- Proficient in GIS and industry-standard software including RoRB, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS
- Demonstrated experience in complex environments such as mining, major infrastructure or engineering consulting
- Sound understanding of water licensing and relevant permit frameworks (desirable)
- Strong analytical capability, data management skills and advanced computer literacy
