Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (SPE) with strong port and rail experience, as well as project management experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting delivery across the full project lifecycle, including concept development, design, construction, commissioning and handover.
The role is Perth-based, with an expectation of regular travel to Port Hedland to support site teams and engage directly with Operations stakeholders. There may also be periods of being based on site for a short period of time for the rail bridges projects.
Projects:
Supporting approximately six sustaining capital projects ranging from $10M to $20M. Some of the projects are inflight, and others are at concept stage.
The projects vary and include:
- Remediating rail bridges steelwork and replacing bridge bearings
- Upgrading tug pen infrastructure
- New site facilities – HV kiosks, clean rooms, site offices
- Upgrading rail flashbutt yard
- Developing project management framework documentation (stakeholder requirements, cost estimates, cashflows, schedules etc.)
- Managing engineering and design works
- Awarding works to engineering consultants and construction contractors
- Managing all technical queries
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer delivering port and/or rail infrastructure projects
- Project management experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects through the whole project lifecycle including concept, design, construction and handover
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, with confidence managing design queries and site issues
- Ability to work effectively with Operations stakeholders and site-based teams
