As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing procurement, expediting, and contract activities to ensure materials and services are delivered safely, on time, and in line with commercial objectives.
You’ll work across both project and operational environments, contributing to a high-performing team and driving strong commercial outcomes through effective contract governance and stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end contract management including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, award, and administration
- Prepare and issue high-quality tender packages and coordinate evaluation processes
- Conduct commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers and contractors
- Manage contract variations, progress claims, and extension of time (EOT) assessments
- Develop recommendation papers and business cases for contract awards
- Establish and maintain contract governance frameworks, registers, and reporting
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including legal, finance, and operational teams
- Support procurement processes including purchase requisitions and purchase orders where required
- Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and contractual obligations
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to a collaborative team culture
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline
- CIPS qualification (highly regarded)
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in procurement and supply chain
- At least 5 years’ experience in major project contracting within mining, resources, or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Australian procurement legislation and contract law
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
