This is a high-impact position working closely with Construction, Engineering, Operations and Project Controls teams to align execution methodology with realistic, data-driven schedules.
About the Role
As a senior member of the planning function, you will:
- Lead construction sequencing, methodology alignment and execution strategy integration into project schedules
- Develop and maintain detailed Level 3–5 schedules across Greenfields and Brownfields scopes
- Analyse contractor schedules and integrate them into the master program
- Lead end-to-end shutdown planning including WBS development and critical path identification
- Monitor schedule performance, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Implement and report on Earned Value (CPI/SPI), trends and schedule variances
- Develop dashboards and KPI reporting in collaboration with Data & Analytics teams
- Support forecasting, scenario modelling and data-driven decision making
- Ensure compliance with planning standards, governance frameworks and change management processes
- Communicate schedule risks, constraints and recovery strategies to senior stakeholders
- Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in construction planning within heavy industry, mining or infrastructure
- Strong background in Iron Ore operations with understanding of production-critical environments
- Proven shutdown planning expertise including contractor coordination and risk management
- Demonstrated experience in both Greenfields and Brownfields environments
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Power BI
- SAP experience for shutdown planning and work order management
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and work packaging
- Experience integrating contractor schedules and managing multi-discipline interfaces
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at site and corporate level
- Strong safety mindset and duty of care awareness
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- Trade background (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or similar)
