About the Role
As a Senior Metallurgist, you will play a key role in completing and validating process designs by applying sound metallurgical principles and advanced analytical skills. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure designs are technically robust, commercially viable, and aligned with project objectives. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong experience in mineral processing design and the ability to move confidently from data interpretation to finalised process documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse metallurgical test work outcomes and apply sound metallurgical principles to support projects under development
  • Complete process design development and prepare detailed process design documentation
  • Undertake and validate mass balances to develop and confirm process designs
  • Review process designs, calculations, vendor data, and study documentation
  • Provide technical input into study phases and engineering deliverables
  • Contribute to practical, fit-for-purpose solutions for complex processing challenges
  • Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (extensive practical experience highly regarded)
  • 10–15 years’ experience in mineral processing or metallurgical design environments
  • Strong experience with gravity concentration and flotation circuits
  • Proven capability in analysing and interpreting metallurgical test work data
  • Experience reviewing designs, calculations, vendor data, and study documentation
  • Background working within mineral processing engineering and design projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • High-quality technical writing and reporting skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Highly regarded:
  • Copper and Molybdenum flotation experience
  • Tungsten processing experience
