Senior HSE Specialist

Contract Length: 12 months

Monitoring & Reporting

• Perform regular site inspections and audits.
• Maintain records of safety performance and report findings to management.
• Ensure annual HSE prequalification is completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain the project H&S system and keep appropriate H&S records.

• Ensure emergency procedures are in place and understood by all personnel.
• Coordinate drills and ensure readiness for emergency situations.

• Work closely with site supervisors, contractors, and project teams to promote a positive safety culture.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure safe work practices.

• At least 8–10 years’ experience in the mining industry, with relevant experience in construction projects and operations.
• Management of contractors.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership in the field and influence behaviors across all levels of the project, particularly among contracting partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make practical decisions in high-stress environments.
• Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise work and structure tasks efficiently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in conflict resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Diploma in Occupational/Work Health & Safety
• Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent)
• Advanced First Aid

• Lead Auditor qualification
• ICAM Lead Investigator
• Leadership or Management qualifications
