About the Role: Deliver performance analysis across locomotive assets. Lead reliability and defect elimination activities. Report asset risks, trends and forecasts to stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Track asset performance – asset health, availability, downtime, abnormally high maintenance cost assets, and provide resolution to address abnormalities reported.
- Preparation of asset performance reports and reporting to business stakeholders.
- Identification and management of asset risks, and reporting to stakeholders
- Drive current reliability and defect elimination (DE) activities/projects
- Undertake route cause analysis as per DE triggers
- Review current maintenance practices and identify areas for improving costs, efficiencies, productivity, component life extension, etc.
- Ensure early detection and prognosis of functional failure through condition monitoring for locomotives
- Locomotive and track machine fluid sample condition monitoring
- Provide guidance/trouble shooting advice to maintainers to rectify locomotive issues
- Component overhaul forecasts and input to the budgeting process as required – develop forecasts for components that have a condition-based replacement strategy, drive optimisation in component replacement forecasts, review vendor forecasts for parts
- Critical spare management and review of min/max levels
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Rollingstock engineering experience
- Diesel electric locomotive maintenance
- Asset condition monitoring capability
- SAP or similar CMMS experience
- Knowledge of lifecycle cost evaluations
- Knowledge of Work Management / Planning
- Knowledge of rail operations
