Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role:  Lead electrical engineering activities from concept to as-built. Supervise design delivery and support safety reviews and workshops. Report to the Electrical Department Manager.

Essential Skills & Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Power) with professional registration in Victoria (or ability to obtain).
  • Proven technical experience in the Refinery/Mining or similar industry, including leading projects and brownfield electrical systems modifications.
  • Strong capability across electrical design, including HV/LV systems, protection schemes, calculations, layouts, instrumentation interfaces, and commissioning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, and deliver quality outcomes across all phases of engineering projects.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian electrical standards, with Hazardous Area Accreditation and/or Functional Safety TUV Certification highly regarded.
Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Deliver discipline-specific electrical engineering services that meet Worley, client, and regulatory requirements from concept through to as-built, ensuring safe, sustainable, and fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Undertake and verify engineering design deliverables, ensuring compliance with Worley checking procedures and participating in reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and safety-in-design workshops.
  • Prepare and review engineering estimates, calculations, drawings, specifications, and schedules; ensure clarity of scope, assumptions, resources, and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and establish strong relationships with clients, contractors, and Worley personnel.
  • Provide technical direction, control, and supervision on projects; ensure technical integrity, quality, and delivery of discipline-specific design within budget and schedule.
  • Manage workload, resources, and deliverables for the discipline team, providing mentoring, feedback, and support for career development.
  • Proactively identify issues and develop practical and innovative solutions, considering safety hazards and risks across the asset lifecycle.
