Senior Electrical Engineer

Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver discipline-specific engineering services that meet client expectations and comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake engineering design and provide technical verification of project deliverables within your technical capability.
- Develop fit-for-purpose solutions from concept through to as-built, with consideration for safe and sustainable design, operability, maintainability, and decommissioning.
- Proactively identify safety hazards and risks across the asset lifecycle and take ownership of relevant actions to ensure timely close-out.
- Identify and resolve technical issues; develop innovative solutions and seek guidance where necessary.
- Ensure project scope is clearly defined and any changes follow established change management processes.
- Prepare, assist with, or oversee the production of engineering calculations, technical drawings, and documentation.
- Conduct thorough checks and quality reviews of all deliverables in line with project and company standards.
- Participate in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and safety-in-design workshops as required.
- Scope engineering requirements and define methodologies for in-scope and out-of-scope activities.
- Clarify assumptions, exclusions, relied-upon information, and deliverable lists.
- Provide input into scheduling, ensuring realistic sequencing in line with project milestones and inter-discipline dependencies.
- Assess and plan resource requirements based on availability.
- A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
- Extensive experience in the resources and mining sectors (utilities experience beneficial), with a track record of leading discipline-level project work.
- Proven ability to work effectively across multiple concurrent projects.
- End-to-end experience across all phases of engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian electrical standards.
- Strong capability in power system studies using PowerFactory or PTW (highly desirable).
- Experience in step and touch potential calculations and lightning protection design using CDEGS (highly desirable).
- Functional Safety TUV Certification (advantageous).
