The position plays a key role in ensuring contracts are commercially sound, compliant with governance requirements, and aligned with organisational risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including services and consultancy agreements.
- Manage contracts through the full contract lifecycle, from award through to close-out.
- Administer and assess variations, claims, extensions of time and disputes in accordance with contract terms.
- Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, implementing appropriate controls.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with contractual governance frameworks, policies and approval requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of contract management processes and systems.
- Mentor and support junior commercial and contract professionals.
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in contract management or commercial roles.
- Proven experience managing complex, high-value contracts.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in mining, energy or infrastructure project environments.
- Professional certifications such as WorldCC, CIPS, or equivalent.
- 12-month contract based in the Perth Office.
- Exposure to complex commercial matters and senior stakeholders.
