Our Tier 1 mining client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and design support across a diverse portfolio of major projects.
This role suits a forward-thinking engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, owner’s team environment and enjoys working across feasibility, design, risk and delivery phases.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in delivering civil engineering outcomes across renewable energy, power, and heavy infrastructure developments.
The position has a strong focus on earthworks, drainage, and road design, as well as consultant coordination and infrastructure optioneering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to feasibility and technical studies (internal and consultant-led)
- Coordinate and review civil engineering consultants for major project developments
- Develop in-house design packages including earthworks, drainage and road design
- Prepare Basis of Design documentation, technical specifications and study reports
- Undertake infrastructure gap analysis and multi-criteria optioneering assessments
- Identify site constraints (topography, flood risk, utilities, access, regulatory)
- Manage civil engineering risk across the full project lifecycle
- Review and challenge consultant designs to optimise cost and schedule
- Contribute to contractor engagement, tender preparation and technical evaluation
- Engage with domestic and international stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 8–10+ years’ experience across feasibility to construction delivery
- Experience in renewable energy or major civil infrastructure (roads, rail, ports, aviation or utilities)
- Strong design capability in roads, drainage, bulk earthworks, sewer and water infrastructure
- Proficiency in 12D, AutoTURN/Vehicle Tracking, drainage software and ArcGIS Pro
- Experience preparing Basis of Design, Technical Specifications and Scopes of Work
- Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory approvals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
