Senior Civil Draftsperson

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Draftsperson to join our sustaining capital team in the rail sector. This role will see you providing high-quality design and drafting support for major upgrades and maintenance across a large heavy haul rail network.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and site delivery teams, producing civil drafting deliverables that meet strict quality, operational, and safety standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, as well as site execution works on a variety of rail infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality civil drafting deliverables in line with project standards and timelines.
• Apply a sound understanding of heavy haul rail design principles, earthworks, and drainage design.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure designs are practical and compliant.
• Support pre-feasibility and feasibility campaigns, enabling studies, and site execution works.
• Assist in the delivery of rolling engineering campaigns across priority rail assets.

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience in civil drafting.
• Proficiency in MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of heavy haul rail design, earthworks, and drainage.
• Background in rail, mining, or major infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
