This is a senior site-based leadership role, working closely with Project Managers, Site Leadership Teams, Safety Advisors and Contractors to embed a strong, proactive safety culture across multiple project sites.

The Role Reporting to the Fixed Plant Manager (Projects), you will be responsible for leading project safety performance and supporting site teams in all matters relating to health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing visible and exemplary safety leadership across multiple sites
- Managing and mentoring a team of 6–8 Safety Advisors
- Leading recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of safety personnel
- Partnering with Project Managers, site teams, contractors and key stakeholders on safety matters
- Participating in project planning risk assessments, kick-off meetings and executive safety forums
- Developing, implementing and reporting on the annual Project Safety Management Plan
- Preparing weekly and monthly HSE reports
- Supporting mobilisation and onboarding processes for contractors
- Coaching leaders through effective risk management processes
- Leading critical control monitoring, field leadership interactions and task observations
- Conducting live risk assessments and team-based risk assessments
- Auditing contractor compliance against project safety requirements
- Leading incident investigations and facilitating ICAMs
- Reviewing and monitoring safety system data and reporting quality
- Developing and implementing at least one safety improvement initiative per quarter
- Managing the department training matrix to ensure compliance with minimum training requirements
- Facilitating safety inductions and training sessions for both site and corporate teams
- Ensuring a minimum of 80% mandatory training compliance following probation
- Site-based role across multiple locations
- 4/3 or 8/6 roster (flexible) depending on project requirements
- Occasional coverage may be required to support gaps in site safety leadership
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
- Proven experience leading safety teams across complex, multi-site projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to safety and risk management
