You will play a key role in monitoring contractor progress, verifying quantities, supporting project cost forecasting, and ensuring works are delivered in line with safety, quality, and commercial expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Track installed remediation quantities and daily labour, plant, and materials
- Verify contractor progress reports, payment claims, variations, and provisional sums
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly contractor reporting
- Support monthly project cost forecasting and scope development
- Assist with execution strategies, scopes of work, and bills of quantities
- Monitor contractor conformance to Quality, HSE, and risk assessment requirements
- Participate in field leadership activities including hazard reviews and safety interactions
- Support engineering reviews, remediation plans, and installed quantities verification
- Document and track scope or design changes and update cost forecasts accordingly
- Attend contractor progress and shutdown meetings as required
- Assist with contractor performance analysis
- Raise purchase requisitions and manage mandatory training compliance
- Previous site-based experience in mining, construction, or major infrastructure environments (FIFO preferred)
- Strong background in quantity surveying with a practical, in-field approach to measuring progress and quantities
- Proven experience reviewing contractor claims, variations, and progress reports
- Confident engaging face-to-face with contractors and project teams
- Solid understanding of commercial contracts and cost control processes
- Site safety awareness with a proactive approach to field leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- Exposure to estimating or finance highly regarded
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines including structural, mechanical, civil, electrical, and coatings
- Strong MS Excel skills; MS Project experience advantageous
- Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working autonomously while identifying opportunities for improvement
