Project Planner

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimise detailed project schedules for the capital projects portfolio, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project objectives.
- Review and challenge contractor schedules, including logic, durations, milestones, and resource allocations.
- Support tender evaluation processes by reviewing proposed project schedules and methodologies.
- Conduct scenario analysis and resource levelling to identify potential schedule conflicts and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate and chair project planning and scheduling meetings with stakeholders, ensuring decisions are documented and actioned.
- Review, validate, and update project assumptions to maintain realistic and achievable schedules.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions through structured project change management processes.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure integration of all schedule inputs, including construction, commissioning, and interface activities.
- Provide accurate, timely reporting and schedule forecasts to Project Leads and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with project governance frameworks, capital process requirements, and risk assessment procedures.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project planning and scheduling, with strong foundations in project management principles.
- Proven experience in capital projects within mining, infrastructure, or resources, preferably including dewatering or similar programs.
- Demonstrated ability to review, challenge, and improve contractor schedules.
- Strong capability in scenario planning, resource levelling, and critical path analysis.
- Experience with tender review processes relating to project scheduling.
- High proficiency with planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of project change management processes and schedule risk analysis.
- Familiarity with capital project governance frameworks (desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scheduling concepts in a clear, concise manner.
