Our client is currently seeking a site-based Lead Mechanical Engineer
to support an exciting construction project involving the expansion of a mineral processing plant. A strong Senior Mechanical Engineer
with relevant experience will also be considered for this opportunity.
This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager and is offered as a 9-month contract
with the potential for extension. The role operates on a FIFO basis from Perth (2/1 roster), with 11-hour workdays. Fly in on Day 1, fly out on Day 14.
Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical engineering support during the construction phase of a mineral processing plant expansion.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including consultants and other contracting groups.
- Apply sound engineering principles to resolve complex technical challenges across a broad range of mechanical systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in the design and construction of mineral processing plants.
- Familiarity with systems including: Crushing, Grinding, Flotation, Thickening, Carbon in Leach (CIL), Elution, and Electrowinning.
- Exposure to base metals, rare earths, and associated processing technologies.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes under tight deadlines.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset and a strong focus on project deliverables.
- Previous site-based experience on mineral processing projects highly regarded.
