Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for mechanical engineering activities on a major port infrastructure project
- Lead the design and review of materials handling systems, including conveyors, transfer stations, ship loaders/unloaders, feeders, stackers, and reclaimers
- Provide technical oversight of engineering deliverables, calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards, codes, and client requirements
- Interface with civil, structural, electrical, and process disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Support constructability reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments
- Provide technical input during procurement, vendor evaluation, and tender reviews
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive experience in materials handling systems, ideally within ports, bulk materials, mining, or heavy industrial infrastructure
- Proven experience acting as a discipline lead on large materials handling projects
- Strong knowledge of conveyor design, bulk solids handling, and rotating equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders
- Engineering Consulting or EPC/EPCM background
