Title – Lab Metallurgist
 
The Role:

Our client is seeking a capable and proactive junior Lab Metallurgist / Testwork Engineer to oversee and manage their metallurgical test work. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated junior metallurgist looking to build hands-on experience in a lab environment. You’ll gain exposure to real test work, learn directly from experienced professionals, and see how your results drive key project decisions.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and supervise metallurgical test work in the lab.
• Conduct flotation and gravity separation test work, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Capture learnings from lab tests and communicate insights to the project team.
• Maintain high standards of lab safety, organization, and quality control.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and project staff to support project decision-making.

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 2-5 years’ previous experience monitoring a lab
• Proven lab experience in metallurgical testing; experience with flotation and gravity separation essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical results into project insights.
