Junior/Mid Level Control Systems Engineer
The role is Perth based with ad-hoc travel to client sites largely in Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review technical documentation, including (but not limited to):
- Functional Specifications
- Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) documents
- Site Acceptance Test (SAT) documents
- I/O Lists
- Develop software for PLC systems.
- Develop SCADA and HMI software.
- Interpret and review relevant design documents, such as:
- P&IDs and PFDs
- I/O Lists and Cable Schedules
- Loop Diagrams and Control Philosophies
- Flow Diagrams and Electrical Design Documentation
- Equipment Datasheets
- Configure Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) from a variety of manufacturers.
- Analyse and audit existing control system implementations.
- Participate in design reviews and punch listing with client representatives.
- Conduct Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT & SAT).
- Commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA software onsite.
- Engage with client representatives regarding industrial control systems.
- Assist with product selection, design, and specification.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Mechatronics.
- Permanent residency in Australia.
- Valid Australian driver’s license.
- Experience with at least one of the following PLC platforms:
- Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, or GE Emerson.
- Experience with at least one of the following SCADA platforms:
- Plant SCADA (Citect), FactoryTalk, or Ignition.
- Understanding of common industrial communication protocols, including:
- Modbus TCP, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills for industrial control systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in the power, energy, or mining sectors.
- Background in electrical design and fault diagnosis.
- Experience with network and communication systems design and troubleshooting.
