An opportunity exists for an experienced Installation Lead to take technical and commercial ownership of wind turbine installation and heavy‑lift activities within a large‑scale renewable energy environment.
This role acts as the accountable authority for turbine installation packages, providing leadership across contract administration, commercial management and technical governance. Working within a matrix structure, you will partner closely with construction leadership and site‑based teams to ensure installation activities are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with schedule and cost expectations.
The position suits a senior engineer with deep expertise in turbine erection methodologies, heavy‑lift operations and contractor management.
Key Responsibilities Package & Commercial Ownership
- Administer and manage installation‑related contracts
- Lead variations, claims, extensions of time and payment approvals
- Monitor cost, schedule and risk exposure across installation scopes
- Provide structured reporting and commercial updates to project leadership
- Oversee turbine erection methodologies and heavy‑lift strategies
- Review, endorse and govern lift plans and installation procedures
- Ensure compliance with OEM requirements and Australian Standards
- Resolve complex technical, constructability and interface issues
- Partner with construction leadership and site teams to align technical, commercial and execution priorities
- Provide oversight, direction and guidance without direct line management responsibility
- Provide governance over high‑risk lifting and installation activities
- Ensure critical controls, compliance frameworks and risk management processes are effectively implemented
You are a technically strong, commercially astute installation professional with a proven track record in wind turbine erection and heavy‑lift delivery.
Essential experience and qualifications include:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or related discipline)
- Significant experience in wind turbine installation and heavy‑lift operations
- Demonstrated contract administration and commercial management experience on major infrastructure or renewable projects
- Hands‑on experience with self‑erection systems and large crawler cranes (LG1800 class or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and lifting regulations
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or working towards
- Relevant High Risk Work Licences
- Experience delivering works in remote or regional environments
