Are you an experienced HSE professional looking to lead safety on a major mining civil works project? We’re seeking a proactive HSE Lead
to join our team and drive health, safety, and environmental excellence across a large-scale civil and structural construction project in Boddington.
About the Role As HSE Lead, you will oversee all aspects of safety and environmental compliance for bulk earthworks, concrete, roadworks, and structural works. This pivotal role provides visible leadership on-site, ensuring compliance with legislation, client standards, and project-specific requirements while fostering a strong safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive HSE leadership across all civil construction activities.
- Champion a “Zero Harm” mindset through regular site engagement, coaching, and mentoring.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations (ICAM or equivalent).
- Review and approve JHAs, SWMS, lift studies, and environmental management plans.
- Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and provide solutions to site-specific risks.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted training.
- Coordinate emergency response readiness and drills.
- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (Diploma preferred).
- 8+ years’ HSE leadership experience in civil construction or mining infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of high-risk construction activities (excavation, working at heights, lifting, traffic management, confined space entry).
- Proven ability to engage multiple contractors in a dynamic project environment.
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training desirable.
- Environmental awareness including erosion control, dust suppression, and spill prevention.
- Lead HSE on a high-profile mining civil works project.
