An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Estimator to support the delivery of EPC projects within the mining and mineral processing sector. This role is responsible for developing accurate project budgets, labour and material schedules, and supporting tender submissions and contract management through to construction.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and design teams to ensure estimates are robust, competitive, and aligned with safety, quality, and commercial expectations. The role suits a technically strong estimator with solid site experience and a practical understanding of electrical construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Estimation
- Develop project estimates using approved procedures and estimating systems
- Prepare estimate development plans
- Support project managers, engineers, and discipline leads with budget formation
- Estimate labour, materials, equipment, and productivity factors
- Develop labour rates and task durations
- Ensure estimates include adequate allowances for site safety requirements
- Liaise with procurement and design teams to obtain vendor pricing and external data
- Monitor actual costs against estimates and reconcile variances
- Review method statements for alignment with estimate assumptions
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of estimating procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Review technical queries with design teams and implement approved changes
- Manage cost and schedule impacts resulting from scope or design changes
- Provide cost and estimating reports as required by the project team
- Strong project estimation experience within EPC or construction environments
- Significant site or field-based experience
- Mineral processing plant construction experience
- Electrical design experience highly regarded
- Ability to independently interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Solid understanding of Australian and/or IEC electrical standards
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail with strong organisational capability
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Electrical Engineering degree or relevant electrical trade qualification
