Electrical Project Engineer

Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate electrical design efforts across NPI projects, ensuring alignment with structural, civil, and mechanical disciplines, and compliance with project requirements and relevant standards.
- Take ownership of maintaining and regularly updating project task lists and electrical documentation in collaboration with subcontractors and consultants.
- Support the preparation and development of electrical designs, including drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documentation for various systems and project components.
- Actively participate in Safety in Design processes such as HAZID and HAZOP studies, ensuring electrical safety considerations are integrated throughout all project phases.
- Review design outputs to identify and address potential issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Scheduling teams to align engineering deliverables with project timelines and milestones.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely distribution and receipt of relevant electrical information and deliverables.
- Contribute to estimating, scoping, and preparing technical specifications for electrical work packages across diverse NPI and infrastructure projects.
- Assist in the development of project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical works and commissioning phases.
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Trade qualification, with strong technical proficiency and familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software.
- Possess hands-on experience in design and construction, especially within NPI environments (e.g., modular buildings, mining camps, vehicle workshops, bulk fuel and lubricant facilities, power distribution, communications, instrumentation, and infrastructure).
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret and evaluate complex electrical drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
- Exhibit strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, construction, and client-facing teams.
- Have sound knowledge of Australian Standards and key specifications used across the mining and infrastructure sectors.
