Based in Perth CBD, this role is primarily office-based to enable strong collaboration across project teams, with flexibility to work from home once established in the role. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across the full asset lifecycle—from concept through to commissioning and handover—while continuing to grow your technical capability in a supportive, project-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver electrical engineering services in line with project scope, safety, quality and regulatory requirements
- Develop safe, sustainable and fit-for-purpose designs across the asset lifecycle
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation
- Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs and safety-in-design workshops
- Identify and manage risks, ensuring actions are tracked and closed out
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated design outcomes
- Support project delivery, including scope management, estimates, schedules and reporting
- Apply relevant Australian standards and engineering codes
- Contribute to continuous improvement, including the use of digital and AI-enabled tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electrical Power Engineering
- ~6+ years’ experience in energy, chemicals or similar industries
- Experience across design, execution, construction and commissioning phases
- Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
- Hazardous area design experience and/or certification
Technical Experience
- Equipment sizing, cable routing, layouts, lighting and earthing design
- Arc flash studies, HV switchgear and MCC design
- Protection systems and relay coordination
- Control systems and instrumentation interfacing
- Development of key deliverables (SLDs, schematics, layouts, schedules)
- Site-based activities including inspections, construction support and commissioning
- FATs, SATs and equipment inspection/witnessing
- Preparation of specifications, datasheets, MTOs and work packages
- Input into estimates, schedules and shutdown planning
