Electrical Engineer 

Contract Length: 6 months

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with local and national safety codes, requirements, and standards within the assigned area of responsibility. Promote a Zero Accident Philosophy throughout all Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up activities, and actively participate in safety programs.
  • Receive operational oversight, administrative supervision, and technical guidance from the CSU Electrical Lead or Pre-Commissioning Manager. Objectives are defined, and results are subject to supervisory review, with day-to-day supervision from the CSU Electrical Lead.
  • Establish and maintain professional contacts with clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel. Represent startup activities on project teams as required.
  • Prepare project administrative and technical documents as needed for Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up, maintenance, operation, and testing activities.
  • Develop and implement plans, procedures, and process improvements to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up activities in line with project requirements.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Coordinate work sequences with contractors and other stakeholders to align with the overall project plan.
  • Ensure permanent plant materials are stored according to specifications and project requirements. Responsible for testing electrical systems in accordance with manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • Oversee jobsite operations, including on-site activities of subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other personnel as assigned within the area of responsibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. Assist with the preparation of operations manuals and review functional acceptance criteria documents.
  • Ensure all testing documentation is completed and submitted to support the project schedule.
  • Support and participate in facility/system walkdowns.
