Key Accountabilities:
- Develop project deliverables in line with project scope, specifications, and standards, including but not limited to GAs, SLDs, termination diagrams, cable schedules, scopes of work, materials lists, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
- Perform electrical calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection, as well as support procurement processes.
- Provide technical guidance, advice, and recommendations to the Project Manager and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and business requirements.
- Liaise with external vendors for quotations and equipment supply, including manufacturers, contractors, and consultants; assess proposals and present findings to internal stakeholders.
- Attend factory acceptance tests to ensure technical compliance and quality assurance.
- Conduct occasional site visits for inspection and testing of equipment (Pilbara and Perth metropolitan areas).
- Communicate clearly and promptly regarding design progress, changes, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate and share information with other disciplines in a timely and effective manner.
- Strong understanding of applicable Australian and international standards, with experience in safety-in-design practices such as HAZOP, HAZID, and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated experience designing electrical infrastructure for pump stations, borefields, and transfer pump stations (including pump motors, VSDs, MCCs, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Engineers Australia.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in an engineering design role.
- Experience developing Operating and Control Philosophies / Functional Descriptions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
