About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the Group Manager in managing the sustaining capital group and fill in when the Group Manager is on leave. This includes but is not limited to:
- Review/approval of proposal decision matrices (PDM) and proposals within limits of the DoA.
- Review/approval of Consultancy Service Agreements (CSA) within limits of the DoA.
- Review/approval of Project Trends and Variations within limits of the DoA.
- Attend/participate in Group Strategy/planning meetings such as weekly management meetings, PRM reviews and regular Project Status reviews.
- Attend new Project and Proposal kick-off meetings and review/approval of project setups (PIF).
- Participate and contribute to the business development efforts of the sustaining capital group including preparation of proposals and estimating costs for delivering projects.
- For any project allocated, plan, co-ordinate and control the; engineering, design, procurement & logistics, construction, commissioning and close out phases of allocated projects to ensure projects are completed safely, meet design criteria, are within specification, time and cost constraints to achieve profit and commercial objectives.
- Manage a team of Project Managers/Engineers to achieve the above requirements.
- Actively participate in the companys' Strategy development and implementation thereof.
Experience/Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in related technical fields such as engineering, or construction.
- Minimum +15 years’ experience and supported by commercial and contractual experience.
- Project Management qualifications or training desirable.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to conceptualise and think creatively and the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems.
- Mining industry experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the Sustaining Capital industry preferable.
- Strong contract management experience.
