An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager
to join a major resources project in Western Australia. This position offers the chance to take ownership of site-based construction delivery on a large-scale capital works program, driving execution excellence, safety leadership, and operational discipline across multiple work fronts.
The Construction Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction
across the planning and execution of construction activities, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives. Acting in a statutory capacity as Site Senior Executive (SSE)
under WHS legislation, this role carries responsibility for maintaining compliance, implementing risk controls, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the construction workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of construction strategies, standards, and execution plans for major project delivery.
- Provide early constructability input to engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and practical design outcomes.
- Oversee all aspects of construction execution, including schedule adherence, progress monitoring, and contractor performance.
- Ensure statutory and third-party permits are obtained, managed, and complied with throughout project delivery.
- Manage and mentor the site-based construction supervision team, ensuring adequate resourcing and capability to meet delivery milestones.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Commissioning, and Operations to integrate construction and handover phases seamlessly.
- Implement and monitor risk, safety, and quality management systems to ensure full compliance with WHS legislation and company standards.
- Actively promote and model safety leadership behaviours to maintain a zero-harm work environment.
- Proven multi billion dollar project leading experience.
- Extensive background in leading major construction programs within the mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex contractor interfaces on site.
- Strong understanding of WHS obligations and statutory accountabilities, ideally having acted as or eligible to act as Site Senior Executive (SSE).
- Demonstrated experience in construction planning, risk management, and capital project delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across all project phases.
