About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Water, you will be responsible for managing contracts across the full lifecycle — from sourcing and tendering through to contract administration and close-out. You will support complex construction projects, develop commercial strategies, and ensure governance compliance while fostering collaborative, partnership-based relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end contract management for Water category suppliers.
- Support construction and sustaining capital projects by providing commercial and contractual advice.
- Lead sourcing and tendering activities, including contract negotiation and implementation.
- Prepare recommendations to award based on tender evaluations, schedule analysis and commercial competitiveness.
- Prepare, negotiate and manage Statements of Work, including special contractual conditions where required.
- Manage contract compliance, claims assessment and dispute resolution.
- Identify and escalate material commercial issues as appropriate.
- Act as a trusted negotiator, mediator and problem solver to achieve positive business outcomes.
- Manage a portfolio of critical projects and supplier relationships.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and contracted partners.
- Ensure adherence to governance, procurement frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to a psychologically safe, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Commerce, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in contracts and/or procurement, ideally within construction or large-scale project environments.
- Strong construction contract management experience (Quantity Surveying background preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in tendering, contract formation and negotiation.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience assessing claims and resolving disputes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while meeting critical milestones.

- A commitment to building positive working relationships and supporting psychological safety in the workplace.
- 12-month contract with an immediate start.
