We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe, disciplined, and efficient delivery of enabling works within a live operational environment.

This is a delivery‑focused, owner‑side role requiring strong field leadership, contractor management capability, and the ability to execute construction activities while maintaining continuity of ongoing operations. The position places a strong emphasis on safety, productivity, sequencing, and interface management.

The Role You will be accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of construction works, ensuring schedule, cost, quality, and safety outcomes are achieved. Operating in a brownfields or operational environment, you will manage site preparation and enabling activities that support downstream capital works without disrupting existing operations.

The role requires a structured, systems‑led approach to execution, relying on clear accountability, disciplined planning, and effective contractor engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
  • Lead construction execution in alignment with established safety systems and legislative requirements
  • Provide visible field leadership and actively manage contractor safety performance
  • Ensure works are executed safely within operational and brownfields environments
Construction & Delivery Management
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of construction works, achieving agreed schedule, cost, productivity, and quality outcomes
  • Lead construction sequencing to minimise impact on live operations
  • Manage site access, logistics, and workfronts within constrained operational footprints
Contractor Performance & Productivity
  • Set clear expectations with contractors regarding productivity, sequencing, and delivery discipline
  • Monitor performance through structured planning, progress tracking, and regular site engagement
  • Identify and resolve constraints early through planning, systems, and leadership
Planning & Execution Discipline
  • Support construction planning aligned to structured delivery systems, including work packaging and execution readiness
  • Maintain schedule alignment and effective lookahead planning
  • Operate a delivery model built on clear accountability and capable contractor teams
Stakeholder & Interface Management
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to coordinate enabling works
  • Manage interfaces between construction activities and ongoing operations
  • Provide clear, factual reporting on progress, risks, and constraints
Experience & Capability Requirements

Essential
  • Proven experience delivering brownfields construction or enabling works in live operational environments
  • Strong background in owner‑side or principal‑led delivery roles
  • Demonstrated capability managing civil and earthworks‑focused contractors
  • Experience delivering works involving roads, earthworks, stockpiles, and site preparation
  • Strong alignment with structured, systems‑led delivery models

  • Comfortable delegating to contractors within clear accountability frameworks
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and resilient in operational environments
