We’re looking for an experienced Communications Systems Specialist to join our client, a site-based Operational Technology team supporting critical communications infrastructure across an active mining operation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around radio systems, wireless networks and field infrastructure, not a desk job.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for keeping site communications systems online, reliable and performing at their best. Day to day, that means:
- Maintaining and supporting TETRA digital radio systems
- Working across wireless networks including Cambium, mesh and LTE
- Monitoring network performance and signal coverage across active mining areas
- Relocating and setting up communications trailers and tower infrastructure
- Fault finding and repairing hardware, cabling and network components
- Completing scheduled maintenance and responding to breakdowns
- Supporting fleet communications and FMS-related systems
- Providing on-call support when required
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ experience in a communications or electronics role
- Strong hands-on experience with TETRA systems
- Exposure to Cambium, LTE and wireless network infrastructure
- Solid fault-finding capability across comms and network systems
- Mine site experience (highly regarded)
- Comfortable working at heights and around tower infrastructure
- Manual C-Class driver’s licence (essential)
- Cert IV in Communications
- Open Cabling Licence (Coax, Structured & Fibre)
- EWP, Working at Heights, 4WD training
- HRWL (DG, RB)
- First Aid & CPR
