About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer
with a strong civil and earthworks background
to join a well-resourced and experienced owner-side project team. This is a key role within an owner-managed environment, requiring strong communication, planning, supervision, and problem-solving skills, with safety and quality as core priorities.
The role is offered on an initial 10-month contract
with potential for extension and operates on a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster, working 12-hour days.
Scope of Works:
• Bulk earthworks including cut, fill, and material placement
• Remediation and ground improvement works
• Civil construction activities such as drainage, pavements, and access roads
• Contractor mobilisation, site establishment, and daily works coordination
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with the on-site project team to ensure safe and timely delivery of works
• Participate in construction planning and programme development
• Contractor management and in-field supervision
• Cost tracking, progress reporting, and change management
• Provide leadership in the field, including surveillance and assurance activities
• Assess and certify contractor payment claims
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and project requirements
• Manage quality control and assurance activities
Experience / Requirements
• Degree qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• 5–10 years’ experience in a Project Engineer or similar role
• Experience delivering bulk earthworks and/or remediation projects
• Proven experience supervising and managing contractors
• Strong knowledge of contract management practices and project controls
• Current White Card
• Valid Driver’s Licence (manual preferred)
