The project involves new bridge construction works over 4 km, including associated Great Northern Highway roadworks. Construction will be delivered by a government authority via a head contractor model, while the asset owner is responsible for securing and managing all enabling approvals.
This role will operate in a non‑directive, assurance capacity, providing independent oversight to ensure construction compliance with environmental and statutory approvals.
Role Overview Reporting into the approvals function, the Project Approvals Auditor will:
- Provide independent assurance during construction activities
- Monitor compliance with Approval Requirements (ARs) and permit conditions
- Audit compliance against environmental, heritage, biodiversity, tenure and related approvals
- Interface with construction and approvals teams to identify and report non‑conformances
- Support robust assurance and reporting frameworks without directing construction outcomes
- Strong environmental approvals background
- Demonstrated experience auditing compliance on major civil or infrastructure projects
- Sound understanding of WA environmental and heritage approval frameworks
- Proven ability to work in an independent assurance / auditing role
- Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work FIFO and operate confidently both site‑based and office‑based
- Duration: Approx. 12–18 months
- Commencement anticipated Q4 2026 / Q1 2027
- Pre‑construction:
- 4 weeks full time, office‑based
- Early construction phase:
- 13 weeks site‑based
- FIFO roster 5:2 / 4:3
- 12‑hour days
- Ongoing construction:
- Part‑time support ( 24 hours/week)
- Periodic site visits as required
- FIFO role with flights, accommodation, meals, site transport and IT access provided
- Site shifts assumed as 12‑hour days
