An established engineering and advisory consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Technical Executive – Essential Safety Measures (ESM) to drive technical excellence, business growth, and client engagement within its Building Compliance & Safety team. About the Role As a recognised leader in Essential Safety Measures (ESM), you will combine technical expertise, commercial acumen, and client relationship management to deliver high-quality compliance consulting services while identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will work closely with clients, lead quality assurance initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to the ongoing development of systems, processes, and digital tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of ESM consulting services.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships across property and infrastructure portfolios.
- Prepare proposals, tenders, and submissions to secure new work.
- Provide technical leadership and represent the business at industry and client forums.
- Assess Essential Safety Measures against relevant performance and maintenance standards.
- Conduct site inspections, reviews, and technical assessments.
- Witness and assess Systems Interface Testing (SIT) activities.
- Review technical reports and oversee quality assurance processes.
- Mentor and coach consultants, supporting the development of technical capability across the team.
- Drive innovation, efficiency, and best-practice delivery through improved systems and workflows.
- Degree or Diploma qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of industry experience in ESM, fire safety, building compliance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading ESM consulting services and technical teams.
- Strong business development and client relationship management capability.
- Proven experience identifying compliance risks and defects associated with Essential Safety Measures.
- Knowledge of Systems Interface Testing (SIT) and building safety systems.
- Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders across varying levels of complexity.
- Strong report writing, proposal development, and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
