We are seeking an experienced Subsea Flow Assurance Lead / Principal Engineer to join a specialist engineering team on a part-time basis.
This role is suited to a highly experienced flow assurance professional with a strong subsea oil and gas background, capable of providing technical leadership across concept development, FEED and detailed engineering projects. You will lead and mentor engineering teams, provide specialist technical expertise, engage directly with clients and ensure the successful delivery of flow assurance studies across offshore developments, pipeline infrastructure and emerging energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor flow assurance engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Perform and review steady-state and transient multiphase flow simulations using OLGA and PipeSim.
- Provide technical leadership across subsea production systems, pipeline hydraulics and offshore developments.
- Deliver flow assurance studies across conceptual engineering, FEED and detailed design phases.
- Support emerging energy projects involving carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and ammonia infrastructure.
- Provide technical assurance and governance for engineering studies and project deliverables.
- Develop scope estimates, including man-hour estimates and Cost, Time and Resources (CTR) documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across subsea, pipelines, process and facilities engineering.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, engineering documentation and client presentations.
- Act as a key client interface, providing specialist advice and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Contribute to proposals, business development and the development of client relationships.
- Provide operational production support to oil and gas facility operators.
- A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 15 years of flow assurance engineering experience, ideally with 18+ years specialising in subsea flow assurance.
- Extensive experience in subsea oil and gas developments and pipeline systems.
- Advanced proficiency in OLGA and PipeSim, including steady-state and transient flow analysis.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
- A strong background in conceptual engineering, FEED and detailed design.
- Experience providing production and operational support to oil and gas facilities.
- Strong technical assurance, engineering governance and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven client-facing experience, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience preparing technical scopes, estimates and engineering proposals.
