A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Checker to support major materials handling and process plant projects. This role will play a key part in ensuring design quality, compliance, and consistency across multidisciplinary deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check structural and mechanical design drawings for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure all CAD deliverables align with company and project procedures
- Verify drawings meet relevant Australian and international standards
- Review vendor drawings and integrate design data into project outputs
- Support continuous improvement across design quality and safety
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering functions
- 10+ years’ experience in structural/mechanical drafting and design
- Minimum 5 years in a dedicated checking role
- Strong background across materials handling and process plant layouts
- Proven experience in full plant layout and detailed design environments
- Sound understanding of fabrication and construction methodologies
- Proficiency in MicroStation (2D & 3D)
- Relevant qualification in Engineering Design Drafting or similar
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset
- Effective communicator across all organisational levels
- Collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced designers
- Long-term project pipeline with an established engineering consultancy
