Perth | Initial 6-Month Contract
We're working with a team delivering software that supports a major energy transition program here in WA.
Our client is looking for an experienced Software Developer to help build and enhance cloud-based applications used for asset tracking, forecasting, analytics and operational planning. You'll join a collaborative engineering team working on real-world challenges where the outcomes are seen and used across the business.
The Opportunity
- Build and improve modern cloud applications with a strong focus on scalability and performance.
- Work across the full development lifecycle, from design through to deployment.
- Contribute to products that support data-driven decision making and operational planning.
- Be part of an Agile team of developers, engineers and product stakeholders.
- Developing backend services and APIs using Python.
- Building front-end functionality using React or Angular.
- Working with AWS cloud services and modern development practices.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
- Around 5+ years' experience developing custom software applications.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Experience with React or Angular.
- AWS experience across services such as Lambda, ECS, RDS or similar.
- Good SQL and database knowledge, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Git, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Agile delivery environments and modern software engineering practices.
- Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning or optimisation projects.
- Experience within mining, energy, utilities or other industrial environments.
