Software Developer (Python | AWS | React/Angular)
Perth | Initial 6-Month Contract

We're working with a team delivering software that supports a major energy transition program here in WA.

Our client is looking for an experienced Software Developer to help build and enhance cloud-based applications used for asset tracking, forecasting, analytics and operational planning. You'll join a collaborative engineering team working on real-world challenges where the outcomes are seen and used across the business.

The Opportunity
  • Build and improve modern cloud applications with a strong focus on scalability and performance.
  • Work across the full development lifecycle, from design through to deployment.
  • Contribute to products that support data-driven decision making and operational planning.
  • Be part of an Agile team of developers, engineers and product stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing backend services and APIs using Python.
  • Building front-end functionality using React or Angular.
  • Working with AWS cloud services and modern development practices.
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
What We're Looking For
  • Around 5+ years' experience developing custom software applications.
  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Experience with React or Angular.
  • AWS experience across services such as Lambda, ECS, RDS or similar.
  • Good SQL and database knowledge, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Git, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery environments and modern software engineering practices.
Nice to Have
  • Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
  • Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning or optimisation projects.
  • Experience within mining, energy, utilities or other industrial environments.
Why Consider It?
This is an opportunity to work on meaningful technology programs rather than business-as-usual development. You'll be helping build applications that support large-scale operational and sustainability initiatives while working with a modern tech stack and a strong engineering team.
