We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join a Perth-based engineering team delivering brownfield and greenfield projects across the resources sector.
This role would suit a senior designer who is comfortable working with minimal supervision, producing detailed mechanical designs and layouts, and working closely with engineers and other design disciplines.
The role You will be responsible for:
- Producing mechanical layouts, general arrangements and detailed design drawings
- Developing equipment layouts and associated mechanical designs
- Working across brownfield modifications and new project scopes
- Reviewing vendor information and incorporating it into design packages
- Working closely with Mechanical Engineers, Piping Designers and other disciplines
- Conducting design reviews and checking drawings where required
- Supporting projects through study, detailed design and execution phases
- Working within client, project and drafting standards
- Strong experience as a Senior Mechanical Designer within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects
- Previous experience working within an engineering consultancy or EPC/EPCM environment
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment and plant layouts
- Strong 3D design and drafting capability
- Experience working on Australian resources projects
- Ability to work independently and manage design packages through to completion
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
