Lead Safety Outcomes on Major Resource & Decarbonisation Projects

As the Senior Safety Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner to project leaders, contractors and frontline teams, helping create safer workplaces through leadership, coaching and practical risk management. You'll play a key role in shaping safety culture, driving continuous improvement and ensuring everyone goes home safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert safety advice and support across project and operational teams
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and leadership
  • Support contractor management activities and verify compliance with safety requirements
  • Facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification and incident investigations
  • Monitor and improve safety management systems and associated processes
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and assurance activities
  • Assist in the delivery of safety training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, standards and organisational requirements
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years' experience within mining, resources, construction, processing or oil & gas environments
  • Strong understanding of contractor management and risk management principles
  • Experience working within safety management systems aligned to ISO 45001 and/or AS4801
  • Demonstrated ability to influence positive safety behaviours across all levels of an organisation
  • Incident investigation experience, ideally with ICAM or equivalent certification
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and mine safety legislation
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and coaching skills
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
  • Current and valid driver's licence
Desirable Experience
  • Internal auditing qualifications
  • Experience in major hazard management programs
  • Leadership, training or coaching qualifications (Cert IV TAE, Leadership & Management or similar)
  • Previous experience mentoring safety professionals and site teams
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline
