This is a site-based position initially, offering the opportunity to work closely with operations and project stakeholders while contributing to the delivery of significant asset improvement and capital works initiatives. A hybrid arrangement may be available once established in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical engineering solutions in accordance with statutory, regulatory and industry standards.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical documentation, drawings and design deliverables.
- Develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions from concept through to commissioning and handover.
- Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Safety in Design workshops and technical reviews.
- Identify, assess and manage engineering and asset lifecycle risks.
- Support project planning, estimating and scope development activities.
- Coordinate engineering activities to meet project schedules and budget requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers.
- Manage technical queries, change control processes and quality assurance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 8 years' experience within mining, minerals processing, refining, heavy industry or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical engineering activities on brownfield projects.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project delivery from concept through to execution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Equipment layout and plant design.
- Pumping and piping systems.
- Slurry transport and fluid system analysis.
- Pipe stress analysis.
- Pressure equipment design.
- Materials handling systems.
- Interpretation of mechanical, piping and P&ID drawings.
