Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical engineering solutions on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate engineering activities across project scopes.
- Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and progress updates.
- Ensure project scope, risks, and change management processes are effectively controlled.
- Support procurement activities, including technical requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor engagement.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Identify technical issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where required.
- Liaise with operations, maintenance, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with relevant Australian standards and statutory requirements.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
- RPEV registration is mandatory.
- CPEng highly regarded.
- Strong experience delivering engineering projects within heavy industry, manufacturing, processing, mining, metals, energy, or similar environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian engineering standards and legislation.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cranes and lifting equipment
- Bulk materials handling systems
- Mobile equipment
- Furnaces and high-temperature process equipment
- Cooling water systems and cooling towers
- Compressors and utilities
- Hydraulic and pumping systems
- Reliability and maintenance engineering
- FEA and engineering analysis
- Heat transfer systems
- Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- 12-month contract with strong likelihood of extension.
