This role offers the chance to work within a highly regarded engineering team on technically challenging projects involving heavy industrial plant, materials handling systems, mobile equipment, process infrastructure and mechanical assets.
About the Role As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering services safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will provide technical leadership across project phases including design, procurement, construction and commissioning while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical engineering solutions on time and within budget.
- Manage and execute mechanical engineering scopes across multiple projects.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reporting.
- Ensure project scope and change management requirements are effectively controlled.
- Provide technical support during procurement activities, including:
- Equipment requisitions
- Technical bid evaluations
- Vendor assessments
- Purchase order reviews
- Support construction and commissioning activities.
- Act as Mechanical Lead on selected projects where required.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, operations personnel, contractors and project teams.
- Identify technical issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain awareness of industry innovations and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (Australian recognised).
- Mandatory RPEV registration.
- CPEng registration highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial processing, manufacturing, minerals processing, metals, smelting or similar heavy industry environments.
- Strong understanding of Australian and international engineering standards.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes within project schedules.
