An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join a high-performing engineering team supporting a diverse portfolio of mining and infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will lead hydrogeological investigations and technical assessments that support sustainable water management, groundwater supply, regulatory compliance, and project delivery. This role combines field investigations, technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project support across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hydrogeological investigations and groundwater assessments for major projects.
- Assess groundwater availability, sustainable yield, reinjection feasibility, and environmental impacts.
- Plan and manage groundwater drilling programs, bore installation, aquifer testing, and monitoring activities.
- Analyse, interpret, and manage hydrogeological and groundwater monitoring data.
- Support the design of groundwater supply systems, production borefields, monitoring networks, and wastewater disposal solutions.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, risk assessments, and project documentation.
- Develop project scopes, technical specifications, and work packages for consultants and contractors.
- Support environmental approvals, licensing, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Provide technical advice to project engineers, environmental specialists, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure hydrogeological work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in Hydrogeology (highly regarded).
- Minimum 8 years' experience in hydrogeology and/or water resource management.
- Demonstrated experience delivering hydrogeological investigations and groundwater assessments.
- Experience managing drilling programs, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, and borefield investigations.
- Strong understanding of groundwater modelling and hydrogeological risk assessments.
- Experience using GIS software (experience with MODFLOW, Leapfrog, or similar modelling software is advantageous).
- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and management skills.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Western Australian groundwater licensing and approval processes is desirable.
