This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for driving exploration strategy, generating and prioritising targets, overseeing drilling and field programs, and mentoring a team of geologists and field personnel. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence exploration outcomes while working closely with senior management and key stakeholders through exploration and project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of exploration program
- Interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling data to generate exploration targets
- Manage exploration budgets, schedules and contractor performance
- Mentor and develop geologists and field teams
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, heritage and statutory requirements
- Contribute to technical reporting, presentations and strategic planning
- Manage tenement reporting obligations and maintain good standing across project areas
- Degree qualified Geologist
- Previous experience in a senior role managing junior engineers and field personnel.
- Previous experience in a Senior Exploration Geologist position
- Strong background in mineral exploration with more than 10 years' experience
- Proven capability in target generation, exploration planning and data interpretation
- Experience using Micromine, ArcGIS Pro (or QGIS) and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong leadership, mentoring and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Perth-based role with regular site travel
