This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take a lead role across primary and/or secondary design, working on major power infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design, commissioning and closeout.
The Role
- Lead HV primary and/or secondary design across transmission, substations, renewables, BESS and industrial projects.
- Deliver projects across 132kV to 500kV environments.
- Design and review protection, control, SCADA, earthing and equipment integration.
- Perform and review earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination, cable sizing, load flow, fault level, protection coordination and arc-flash studies.
- Prepare and review specifications, datasheets, schematics, protection philosophies, cable schedules and technical reports.
- Coordinate interfaces across electrical, civil, structural, communications and drafting disciplines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers within the team.
- Support procurement, FAT/SAT, commissioning and project closeout.
- Engage directly with clients, utilities, vendors and project stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in power systems and HV engineering.
- Strong primary and/or secondary substation design experience.
- Exposure to transmission and HV projects, ideally 132kV to 500kV.
- Experience across utilities, resources, renewables, water or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067 and IEC 61850.
- Experience with protection systems, relay configuration/settings and power system studies.
- CPEng, NER, RPEQ or RPEV advantageous.
- Full Australian working rights.
