Project Overview
- Join a global engineering organisation delivering projects across the mining and metals sector
- Exposure to large-scale processing and materials handling projects across multiple commodities

- Contribute to high-quality execution across instrumentation, control systems, and plant design scopes
- Design instrumentation systems for processing plants and materials handling facilities
- Develop scopes of work for:
- Plant control systems
- Instrumentation packages
- Telecommunications systems
- Prepare:
- Functional specifications
- Equipment datasheets
- Study reports and design documentation
- Support proposal development and cost estimating activities
- Specify and select instrumentation aligned with project requirements
- Develop:
- I&C schedules (cables, I/O, instruments)
- Control system designs, including PLC and Remote I/O systems
- Produce and review:
- Panel layouts
- Wiring schematics and termination diagrams
- Support brownfield upgrades including changeover and migration planning
- Participate in design reviews and hazard studies
- Review vendor documentation for compliance with specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience in instrumentation and control systems engineering
- Strong experience in:
- Processing plant or heavy industrial environments
- Mining, minerals, or oil & gas projects
- Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong safety mindset and compliance with project standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
- Functional safety systems experience (e.g. TÜV certification exposure)
- Chartered status or relevant professional registration
- Experience with Smart Instrumentation tools
- Technically strong with the ability to lead design scopes across complex projects
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality engineering outcomes
- Collaborative, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive and capable of mentoring junior team members
- Work with a globally recognised engineering delivery organisation
- Exposure to large-scale, complex mining and processing projects
- Strong project pipeline with long-term opportunities
- Collaborative and technically driven environment
