An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist to join a nationally significant energy infrastructure project on a 2:1 FIFO Roster. Working within a high-performing commercial team, you will play a critical role in administering complex construction contracts, managing commercial risk, and supporting project delivery through effective contract management, variations, change management, and claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer head contracts and subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage contract changes, variations, extensions of time (EOTs), and commercial claims.
- Maintain accurate contractual records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare, review, and issue contractual notices in accordance with contract requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and project teams to identify and manage change events.
- Analyse project information to support commercial negotiations and claims preparation.
- Ensure contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables are effectively managed.
- Provide commercial advice across upstream client contracts and downstream subcontractor agreements.
- Support dispute avoidance activities and maintain robust records for potential dispute resolution.
- Contribute to commercial reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Significant experience as a Senior Contracts Specialist or Senior Contracts Administrator on major construction, infrastructure, mining, or energy projects.
- Strong experience administering both head contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Demonstrated success managing variations, claims, contract changes, and management of change processes.
- Excellent understanding of commercial contract principles and construction contract administration.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with excellent document management capabilities.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
